The All Star Game was played on Friday, January 13 at the Poirier Sports & Leisure Complex in Coquitlam, BC with puck drop at 7:00 pm. Goaltending was showcased in the first period as Nic Renyard (South Island Thunderbirds/Victoria, BC) and Braden Krogfoss (Vancouver North West Giants/Cloverdale, BC) made a number of spectacular saves; fittingly the period ended in a 0-0 tie. The scoreless drought ended in the second period with a pair of goals from Team Blue’s Cole Glover (South Island Thunderbirds/Victoria, BC). Both Cole and Nic collected game stars - well done! Way to represent the T-Birds. The Thunderbirds are enjoying some time off for the bye weekend but get back into action on January 21 when they meet the Greater Vancouver Canadians at the ‘Big Stick’ in Duncan.
